# Fingerprint: JVC/MTCMSD6886UK/sadang:11/RTO8.250915.001/14107831:user/release-keys
# Same MTC board and firmware build as examples/hitachi-65qledsm20 (bangbae), with the UK Freeview Play
# layer instead of Anoki; same JVC firmware family as examples/mtc-uk-2k-android-tv.

# Everything is DISABLED, not uninstalled. Comment out any line you want to keep.
#
# Stock launcher: com.google.android.tvlauncher (the scripts' default). Live TV: com.mediatek.wwtv.tvcenter.
#
# KEEP, even though the names look like bloat (checked on this TV):
# - fusion.android.tv.demo: receives TV_INPUT_BUTTON and CONNECT_INPUT (the remote's Input key) and runs
# Bluetooth accessory pairing, as on examples/hitachi-65qledsm20. examples/mtc-uk-2k-android-tv disables
# it; on this board, don't.
# - com.google.android.leanbacklauncher.partnercustomizer: see the comment at the end of the list.
# - com.airoha.btd (Bluetooth chip), com.google.android.tv.remote.service, every com.mediatek.* (Live TV,
# tuner, inputs), Gboard, Play Store, Play Services, com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith.
# - Factory and test packages (com.mediatek.mtc.factory, mediatek.factorymenu.ui, com.mediatek.testpq):
# never touched, never opened.
# - Assistant (katniss) and the Ambient screensaver (backdrop), by choice.
#
# Status: disabled in five batches on one TV on 2026-10-21, with a reboot the same evening, then three
# days of daily use and about 30 reboots. Home, the remote's app buttons, HDMI inputs and Live TV all work.
#
# Notes from this TV:
# - The Freeview Play apps come back enabled at every boot (Freeview Play certification), so they are not
# listed. That covers every uk.co.freeview.* package (iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5, U, STV, BBC Sounds,
# Watch Free UK, Legend) and the tifbridge, mdsclient and fvpconfigauth plumbing. They were disabled once
# and were back after the next boot. Hide them in the launcher instead. On
# examples/mtc-uk-2k-android-tv they shipped disabled.
# - Live TV opens by itself at every power-on, whatever app is Home. LiveTVLauncher in TvServices.apk
# (com.mediatek.tv.agent.LiveTVLauncher) starts it on a Freeview Play set: vendor.mtk.tif.fvp=1, HbbTV
# FVP support and an MTK country of GBR. No setting turns it off. Waking the TV with the remote's Netflix
# key skips it. A home screen that is direct-boot aware can take over again within 2-4 seconds. The flag
# has to be on the activity: this firmware ignores it on <application>.
# - Settings -> Channel -> Channels -> "Channel Scan" starts a scan as soon as OK is pressed, with no
# confirmation. Don't press OK there while exploring.
# - Location can only be turned on together with Google Location Accuracy. Without Location, apps can't
# read the Wi-Fi network's name.

# Batch 3: casting, by choice (phones can no longer cast to the TV)
com.google.android.apps.mediashell # Chromecast built-in

# Batch 4: the Freeview Play broadband guide. The aerial tuner and its own guide are separate and keep working

# Batch 5: stock home and its rows, after the new launcher took Home
com.google.android.tvlauncher
com.google.android.tvrecommendations # recommendation rows

# Disabled on this TV too, but left out of the list: com.google.android.leanbacklauncher.partnercustomizer
# (JVC rows and tiles on the stock home). examples/hitachi-65qledsm20, on the same board and build, and
# examples/chiq-ai-pont keep it, because com.mediatek.tv.service can crash-loop after a reboot without its
# tvlauncher.widget provider, and the Input key stops working. Nothing visible went wrong here, but nobody
# checked logcat for it, so it stays enabled until someone does.
